5-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cup
I’m a sucker for anything peanut butter and chocolate, and I love a Reese’s cup! But the traditional store-bought peanut butter cups have a long list of processed ingredients that I can’t even pronounce. Let’s make an easy, 5-ingredient, and super clean peanut butter cup that won’t have you feeling icky after eating it.
All you need is a few ingredients and simple kitchen tools.
What you’ll need:
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
- 1 1/2 tbs almond flour
- 2 tbs maple syrup
- 250 g chocolate chip of choice (I used semi sweet chocolate chunks)
- 1 tbs coconut oil
Steps you’ll take:
- Prepare the molds you’ll be using for your peanut butter cups: I used a silicone mini muffin pan for smaller bites. But you can line a traditional muffin tin with paper liners, use a chocolate mold, or simple make rounds on a piece of parchment paper.
- Melt the chocolate with the coconut oil. I don’t have a microwave, so I heat up the oil in a small sauce pan, then mix in the chocolate. If you have a microwave, heat up the chocolate and coconut oil in 15 second increments, mixing in between, until completely melted.
- Fill each liner with chocolate and cover the sides. Place in freezer for 10-15 minutes.
- Mix together peanut butter, almond flour, and maple syrup until combined.
- Evenly scoop peanut butter mixture into each liner, and cover with the rest of the chocolate. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt *optional*. Back into the freezer for another 10-15 minutes.
- Enjoy!
This is the perfect sweet treat that contains healthy fats and some protein. It curbs my chocolate cravings and has a delightful texture. Store in the fridge in an airtight container, for up to three weeks. Freeze up to three months. But I doubt these will last that long!
